The “Apple Pie meets Apple Crisp” Pie
This is amazing! A mouth-watering must have! If you decide to bake it, let me know what you think!
Pie Filling:
5-6 Cortland Apples* (enough for 6-7 c.)
Lemon Juice (1/2 real lemon or 1-2 tbsp. of the bottled stuff)
1/2 c. Sugar
4 tbsp. Flour
1/4 tsp. Salt
Cinnamon
- Mix together peeled & sliced apples, lemon juice, flour, salt, & sugar. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Set aside.
*can be substituted, this is just what I like best. This is what my Gram said to cook with and she’s always right! 😉
Pie Topping:
1/2 c. Flour
3/4 c. Butter/Margarine
1 c. Brown Sugar (firmly packed)
1/2 c. Rolled Oats
1/4 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. CinnamonSmuckers Caramel Dessert Topping are optional, but oh so tasty!
- Mix flour, salt, and brown sugar. Add Oats. Cut in the butter to a crumbly consistency.
- Add the apples to your pie crust and cover with the topping.
- Cover the crust with tin foil and bake for 25 min at 425F.
- Remove tin foil and continue baking at 375F for another 30-35 min.
- Remove pie from the oven and enjoy!! (if you want to add caramel sauce, now is the time)
