I’m going to be baking today and that excites me. I don’t know what exactly I’m going to make and what I’m going to do with it all, but I have to. It’s what I do. I’m sadly not going to be able to give it to friends and family like I did last year, which sucks. I love to share my baking.
I guess we are going to have a freezer full of baked goods.
Do you know what else is going to be really different this Christmas? I can’t find a fresh turkey here in the Hat. They are all frozen. I’ve never used a frozen turkey ever so I don’t know if that is going to make things different in taste or cooking but we’ll see. I’m going out on a finally turkey hunt today to see if I can stumble across a fresh turkey…that is hopefully around 10-12lbs. We want lots of left overs to make sandwiches and soup.
But, back to baking…I’m going to make another batch of shortbread cookies (melt in your mouth shortbreads), some snickerdoodles, a mincemeat pie, and some ginger/molasses cookies. And maybe some rolls for Christmas dinner. It’s going to be a busy day.
Well, busy that is if I feel better. We went out for supper with Pat & Kristin and woke up feeling like we had been drinking and we hadn’t. It seems to be some sort of food poisoning. Bah.
I’m going to go and try to eat. I know I shouldn’t but I’m going to try. Wish me luck. hahaha
