    2 other “quirks”

Listen to how Albertans pronounce the words “t-o-u-r-i-s-t” and “b-o-o-g-e-r”. I’ve noticed both at work and I had the chance to poll some people at John’s office the other way. And lo and behold they say at least one of the words the weird, Albertan way. It seems only people at my work say “t-o-u-r-i-s-t” differently. But they say it like “two-rist”.  And they say us East Coasters are weird. 😉 Now the other one really almost bothers me/makes me laugh. Is “b-o-o-g-e-r”.  They say “BOO-ger”. Like “boo! I’m a ghost”. So strange. And everyone I’ve talked to and polled says it like that. Weirdos! 😉

    Back from NS

So my whirlwind trip to NS is over. I’m back to the usual grindstone. But there is a difference. I feel refreshed. But talk to me after the end of the week, maybe I’ll be back to exhausted and stressed. lol I wish I could have stayed longer but it was not in the cards but I basically got to do everything I wanted and see all the people I wanted to see so it was all good in the hood. It was just quick visits (for the most part). But I noticed more differences than I thought. When people asked the differences from there to here I couldn’t explain…

You can take the bluenoser out of NS

but you can’t take the Nova Scotia out of the Bluenoser. That is so true. But at the moment this Bluenoser is back in Nova Scotia. And it’s pretty sweet. Funniest part of it all…the Arctic Airmass came with. The news is complaining about this cold air that is also known as an “Alberta Clipper” or Saskatchewan Slammer. But it kind of fits. Once upon a time I was blamed for bringing snow to New Brunswick and now this time the Clipper came with me. After I left in July I took the sun and heat with me and the weather became BEAUUUUTIFUL in the Hat and crap here in…

    Struck a cord

I’m here sitting listening to some good ol’ East Coast tunes when I hear some lyrics that jump right out of the computer at me. Good ol’Great Big Sea. Definitely something I relate to. Here’s the snippet that caught my ear. “Seagulls” “The people here seem really nice But the winter’s way too long New friends, they don’t understand They just tell her to be strong She made some decent money But nothing comes for free The busy streets just can’t compete With the sky, the rocks and sea [Chorus] You know that she wants to try, never lets you see her cry You know that she wants to try,…
