So this past weekend I made the daunting drive from Fredericton to Halifax (all by my lonesome I might add) to surprise Lisa. It just so happened to be her birthday weekend as well. It was perfect.
I came back refreshed and happy. None of this overtired, glum person I have become.
It’s amazing how being with people you care about lift your spirits when you least expect it. I knew it was going to be fun but I wasn’t expecting the refreshment I felt.
You ask what was so refreshing….just the company. Being in the province I yearn for isn’t bad either. 😉
We did go shopping on Saturday (found lots of stuff for John but not much for myself) and walked the water front for a couple hours on Sunday (Mmmm Cows Ice Cream) but other than that, it was candy and Wii for us. Nothing better than hitting up the Freak Lunchbox (which by the way, there is now another one open in Bedford…just as good and somehow I seemed to pay less) and Dr. Mario. Oh yea, downloadable for the Wii. Fun times! I then got introduced to Pac-Attack from the SNES and again, ADDICTED. I guess it doesn’t take much. Soon I am going to remember to download Dr. Mario and challenge Lisa. Oh it’ll be on. lol
The weekend was wrapped up with a trip to Winchester’s with Carli. I needed to look at “her” dress before I leave for AB and to try on some dresses. Her choice was the choice and the choice for the MOH dress was great. Too bad the sample was a size 8 and I’m like a 12-14. I got in but it wasn’t pretty and I didn’t dare walk. The top half fit great and looked awesome though. All in all, it was a very quick and productive trip.
But really, I can’t explain the happiness I felt while down there. To think that I won’t be able to have that for a while very soon. I don’t know what I’m going to do when the option to go to Nova Scotia isn’t going to be an option really…it’ll be a journey and well-planned. I don’t even want to think about it. *sigh*
But, I even enjoyed the drive back and got excited to cross the border back into NB. Why you ask, when I love NS so much. Because I realized it was the last time I was going to be driving to Fredericton! WOOHOO!!!! It made me feel very gleeful and overjoyed.
Man, simple things entertain me. But it takes all kinds in this world.
