    New Craptop has arrived!

Well folks… I’m back. And better than ever.  Coming to you straight from a sweet new setup I have on my lap. As you all know, my craptop died.  And it felt like forever since we ordered this one.  We were going to wait until income tax came through but life had other plans. We couldn’t wait and now I’m kind of glad. It’s pretty sweet. It’s a real nice brown and comes with all the perks and priveledges.  My only decision right now is to decide whether I’m going to continue on with Paintshop Pro or transition back to Adobe Photoshop. And to wait for income tax to come…

    2 other “quirks”

Listen to how Albertans pronounce the words “t-o-u-r-i-s-t” and “b-o-o-g-e-r”. I’ve noticed both at work and I had the chance to poll some people at John’s office the other way. And lo and behold they say at least one of the words the weird, Albertan way. It seems only people at my work say “t-o-u-r-i-s-t” differently. But they say it like “two-rist”.  And they say us East Coasters are weird. 😉 Now the other one really almost bothers me/makes me laugh. Is “b-o-o-g-e-r”.  They say “BOO-ger”. Like “boo! I’m a ghost”. So strange. And everyone I’ve talked to and polled says it like that. Weirdos! 😉

    Back from NS

So my whirlwind trip to NS is over. I’m back to the usual grindstone. But there is a difference. I feel refreshed. But talk to me after the end of the week, maybe I’ll be back to exhausted and stressed. lol I wish I could have stayed longer but it was not in the cards but I basically got to do everything I wanted and see all the people I wanted to see so it was all good in the hood. It was just quick visits (for the most part). But I noticed more differences than I thought. When people asked the differences from there to here I couldn’t explain…

    Struck a cord

I’m here sitting listening to some good ol’ East Coast tunes when I hear some lyrics that jump right out of the computer at me. Good ol’Great Big Sea. Definitely something I relate to. Here’s the snippet that caught my ear. “Seagulls” “The people here seem really nice But the winter’s way too long New friends, they don’t understand They just tell her to be strong She made some decent money But nothing comes for free The busy streets just can’t compete With the sky, the rocks and sea [Chorus] You know that she wants to try, never lets you see her cry You know that she wants to try,…

    Gone again

Well, Christmas has come and gone and I’m back to work. Everyone is asking about my Christmas and how it was. My answer. Different. Good….but different. It’s hard to explain. Don’t get me wrong I really loved getting to spend the holidays with J and to lounge on the couch for days on end eating the candy & chocolates I got for Christmas and watching movies. And maybe enjoying an alcoholic drink every now and then. I got lots of amazing presents from here, afar, and from J (he did really good picking presents) and we had an amazing turkey dinner with lots of home baking but it was different.…
