My Year in Review

So 2007 has come and gone. It’s been a pretty lack lustre year from our normal standards I do believe but I’ll take it. We are all here for the beginning of 2008.

Some notable things of 07.

January – Mom came home from the hospital and was ok. 🙂

February – Not much that I can remember other than John’s annual KFC & Beer Birthday party

March – John’s unfortunate fall on campus leading to surgery and a cast until late May/June.

April – My birthday. It came and went and I’m another year older and am now on the decline to 30. 😉  Kimball & Sarah got engaged setting the date for next May!  Dawe decided John couldn’t have an extra 2 pts or whatever and failed him with a D. So summer school, here we come.  The apartment officially, finally, became ours after 2 years. No one else’s but ours!

May – I got my summer job and moved to Moncton, without John. I had a few dates with Kev to occupy my time and keep me sane until John could move back. Dane & Meghan left for Korea 🙁

June- July – Nothing. Just summer shinanagins.

Crap, how could I forget….we brought Charles back from the dead!!!!

August – Our 1 year anniversary. It was a great time. A nice remembrance or whatever of the year before. Too bad we couldn’t have had a second two week honeymoon! hahahahaha

September – John returned to school and I found a new job that I LOVE in Fredericton. I attempted chow and it turned out! I don’t like it but others do and they assured me it was good. hehe I paid off a student loan…one of my many (damn graduating High School and University on time) but it was paid and it was so uplifting.

October – First family Thanksgiving at *our* place. Kim had her baby girl and what a beauty she is! 🙂

November – Pretty lack lustre. No big surprises.

December – John passed all his courses and we worried over nothing for Dawe’s steels!  Christmas. The Jeep broke twice….2 times the same part but now it seems to be a-ok. An old, good friend of mine from Jr/Sr high school was killed in a snow mobile accident.  🙁 More snow than we have seen in years. It’s awesome. I had almost 2 weeks off of work for the holidays and I baked until the cows came home. I successfully made Minced Meat Pie from my grandmothers’ recipe. I was impressed with myself….a little apprehensive about sharing though but it was a hit! So now it’s a tradition for me to do.

So all in all, it was a pretty good year! Nothing major, no HUGE disasters, it was pretty stressfree for the most part. It always has it’s moments but it was doable and controllable.

2008 is setting up to be a record breaking year.  Great job. John graduates. Another loan will bite the dust. Among may other things.

I will say the second half of 07 was better than the first. My patience was raked over the coals in the first half, which I think caused me to gain the 10lbs that came out of no where that I can no longer shake. Grrr!

I found a love for The Office & Smallville. My love for Grey’s remained.

The Leafs missed the playoffs second year in a row (only by a pt for the 2nd year in a row)….first time that has happened in a long time and they knocked the Canadiens out of playoff contention in the final game for them so that made me feel better that’s for sure!

So bring on 2008….we are ready! Let’s have some fun!
